The Nine Arches Bridge in Sri Lanka has amazing views
The South Asian country of Sri Lanka has many amazing sights worth visiting, but perhaps the most mesmerizing one is the view from the Nine Arches Bridge. It was built to serve the dual purpose of viaduct and railway.
It is one of the most significant examples of colonial-era architecture in the country. Local lore claims the bridge was built without steel because the British needed it to fight WWI, so the locals finished the project using only bricks and cement.
