Gaudí’s Sagrada Familia may be unfinished, but it is still a sight to behold
When most people think of the Spanish city of Barcelona, they think of the Sagrada Familia. The epic structure was designed by Catalan architect Antoni Gaudí, one of the region’s greatest Art Nouveau exponents. It has been under construction since 1882.
Over a century later, it is still not finished. The project was funded entirely through private donations and was interrupted several times. The fact that it is incomplete does not detract from the splendor of its intricately detailed turrets and wonderful stained glass.
