This Moroccan city has buildings painted in all shades of blue
It is tough for a human-made structure to compete with the beauty of nature, but The Blue City of Chefchaouen in Morocco comes closer than any other city to beating it. Most buildings are painted in shades of blue, which makes them the perfect backdrop for photographs.
The city was initially meant to serve as a military outpost and was founded just before the Spanish took Granada from the Muslims. Many Jewish and Muslim immigrants arrived there, fleeing Spain’s prosecution.
