These impressive limestone structures are called The Twelve Apostles
These quirky limestone stacks are called The Twelve Apostles and are located off the shore of Port Campbell National Park in Victoria, Australia. They are a popular attraction given that they are close to the Great Ocean Road, the longest WWI memorial in the world.
Their unique shapes are due to erosion. The harsh waves and extreme weather conditions from the Southern Ocean slowly eat away at the soft limestone, forming arches that eventually collapse and leave these column-like structures.
