The Moroccan portion of the Sahara desert features incredible dunes
The Saharan desert is the largest hot desert in the world, spanning 3,600,000 square miles and comprising most of Northern Africa. Although its sand dunes take up a relatively small part of it, they are breathtakingly large and can reach up to 590 feet in height.
The western region of the desert is mainly controlled by Morocco, and there are many excursions available. That said, you should always go with a guide since the climate is extreme and there are not many landmarks to guide you along the way.
