You are actually a little bit taller when you first wake up
Have you ever wished you were taller? We are here to tell you that you actually are, in the mornings, at least. Most people shrink as they go through their daily tasks. That is because, when you are up and walking around, gravity begins to pull your body down.
The Earth’s gravitational pull causes our spines to compress slightly, which in turn makes us a bit shorter than we were when we woke up. After spending several hours at night lying in a horizontal position, our spines “decompress” and the next morning we are back to being slightly taller.
