You do not actually have a 50/50 chance of winning a coin flip
Flipping a coin has been a preferred method for decision-making for decades. Who knows how many middle schoolers have gone over to ask the prettiest girl in school out on a date just because they lost a toss. Everyone believes there are equal odds of getting heads or tails, but it turns out that might not be true.
Believe it or not, the odds are not actually 50/50. In fact, they are slightly skewed in favor of whichever side was up when the coin was tossed. That means it is 51/49 times more likely to land again on the side that was facing upwards.
