Bread can be used as an effective eraser
Artists have many tools that help them achieve different effects. There is actually no limit to how many ordinary objects they can repurpose to suit their needs. Nevertheless, there is one item that has been an artist’s staple for decades: bread. No, they do not eat it, but they rather use it as an eraser whenever they are drawing with graphite.
The food is cheap and plentiful, and ever since the 1770s, artists have been using balled-up, moistened, crustless bread to get rid of any mistakes they might make when sketching. Who knew this common edible could have so many uses beyond eating it.
