First morning after Sweden changed from driving on the left side to the right, 1967
This picture sums up the event that happened on Dagen H, also called Högertrafikomläggningen , on September 3, 1967. The day Sweden switched from driving on the left-hand side of the road to the right. However, the results of this switch are what we see in this picture.
The switch resulted from Sweden’s neighboring countries that drive on the right side and shared land borders, so Sweden had to shift to align with the nations. This accident occurred because 90% of Swedish drivers were left-handed and could not adapt to the new road rules.
