US Coast Guard Cutter Spencer onlooking at the destruction of The Nazi Submarine U-175 on April 17, 1943
This image shows how the United States soldiers defeated the infamous Nazi Submarine U-175. The German submarine U-175 was a Type IXC U-boat of Nazi Germany’s Kriegsmarine built for service during World War II.
The boat undertook three war patrols in its lifetime and was an active war machine. It was put down by the US Coast Guard Cutter Spencer and took ten lives, which were assumed to be soldiers and workers inside the machine.
