Statues of Cleopatra and Caesarion
There’s an ancient palace in Alexandria known as ‘The Lost Palace of Cleopatra,’ which was discovered, in 1998, by the renowned underwater archaeologist Franck Goddio. A statue of Cleopatra’s son, Caesarian, was found there among the sunken ruins of this shocking underwater palace.
Goddio spent almost ten years, since 1990, searching for the sunken island of Antirhodos, a remote location near Alexandria where Queen Cleopatra’s palace was situated. There, he also found statues of the Goddess Isis, a Sphinx, and other colossal figures.
