An exploded star
The death of a star is one of the most traumatic events in space. Even so, we can’t deny it must be incredible to watch. Scientists didn’t get to see a red giant star transform into a Type 11 Supernova, but instead, they found pieces of it.
Astronomers came to the conclusion that the star remains were a consequence of a supernova explosion that occurred approximately two million years ago. Among the remains, they found an excess of a magnetic bacterium. With the help of a UH telescope, the massive star’s self-destruction can be seen.
