The Silfra Crack in Iceland
It’s every diver’s dream to submerge themselves in the Silfra Crack, the world’s most transparent waters. Also known as Silfra Fissure, it is located in Thingvellir National Park in Iceland. The Silfra dive site is approximately 60 kilometers from Reykjavik.
Silfra is the only place where one can dive or snorkel directly in the crack between the North American and Eurasian continents. There, you can dive right between the two continental plates, which drift apart by two centimeters each year.
