Adelaide, the ship that became an island in Australia
While being transported, the city of Adelaide ran aground at Cockle Bay in 1916. It is 300 meters offshore and can be reached during low tide. The City of Adelaide, hidden behind a sea of mangroves, is an off-the-beaten-path experience that certainly excites the senses.
And if visitors don’t want to get in the water, this attraction is a great wreck to just look at. The beautiful mangroves nestled in the middle of the exposed hull make for an amazing photo opportunity. Some say that out of something bad, something good can happen, and this is one such example.
