The Wave in Arizona, United States
Look at and be impressed by this sandstone rock formation in Arizona, near the state’s northern border with Utah. The Wave is located on the slopes of the Coyote Buttes in the Colorado Plateau’s Paria Canyon-Vermilion Cliffs Wilderness. This 280,000-acre remote and unspoiled monument is a geologic treasure with some of the world’s most spectacular trails and views.
This monument contains a wide range of landscapes. Moreover, it serves as a refuge for an increasing number of endangered California condors. Condors hatched and raised in a captive breeding program are released into the monument each year. Just keep in mind that to visit this monument, tourists need to plan ahead of time.
