Radio dramas were a hit, and radio actors were celebrities
When we think of actors, the first thing that might come to mind may be television, movies, or maybe theatre actors. Still, there was one extra type of actor that has sadly faded into oblivion. Radio dramas were a major form of entertainment in the 1920s, and they required skilled voice actors.
Their acting was not quite like the performances we know today. Just like we can spot the difference between theater and television acting, there is also a noticeable difference between them and performers trained for radio acting. The latter can actually sound a bit exaggerated if listeners are not used to hearing these plays.
