The country with the most pets per household is New Zealand
Humans first domesticated cats and dogs thousands of years ago. This means that the three species have practically evolved to be together. It is no wonder, then, that people are so obsessed with their pets. This is particularly true for New Zealanders.
The Oceanic island country has more pets per household than any other in the world, with 68 percent of people having at least one. In second place is the US, where half of the total homes have an animal companion.
