About 16 million people are believed to be descended from Genghis Khan
Genghis Khan is known as the man who united the nomadic tribes that inhabited the Mongol Steppe and founded the Mongol Empire. Subsequent conquests after his death would eventually make his domain the largest contiguous empire in history.
Nevertheless, conquering new territories was not the only way in which he populated his kingdom. The man also fathered multiple children. So much so that today about 1 in 200 men are thought to be descended from him. That amounts to roughly 16 million people.
