More countries signed the Paris Agreement than any other UN proposal
In 2016, at the New York UN headquarters, almost all the world leaders signed the Paris Agreement, which proposed a series of measures every country would have to adopt in order to fight climate change. It was one of the most remarkable displays of global unity in history.
Sadly, it does not mean that it was very effective, especially since Donald Trump dropped out of the agreement shortly after he was elected president of the US. Having one of the most powerful countries in the world abandon was a tough blow.
