Canada has the highest percentage of forest area
Forests are the most common terrestrial ecosystem on the planet, and as such, they should be treasured. They contain some of the oldest tree specimens in the world, which give us important insight into how the world changed through the millennia.
Only five countries contain over half of the world’s forests, but Canada is the place with the highest percentage of them. The Northern country is home to 9 percent of the planet’s woodland, which amounts to 396.9 million hectares.
