Researchers recorded the coldest temperatures ever in Antarctica
Although global warming is raising the planet’s overall temperature, it does not mean that winters are not still harsh. What is more, the coldest temperature ever was recorded in Antarctica between 2004 and 2016.
It amounted to a whopping -144 degrees Fahrenheit. Air that cold would cause havoc to the systems of any human who dared breathe it in more than a couple of times. It can even cause hemorrhaging in the lungs and death. Some areas of the planet are too extreme for complex organisms to survive.
