The sky could go completely dark in several billions of years
The sky at night is never completely dark. We can usually see the moon shining bright above or the faraway stars twinkling. Nevertheless, how would you feel if we told you it could go utterly black in a few billion years? The notion is quite scary, but that is what experts theorize could happen if the universe keeps expanding.
The universe’s accelerated growth could eventually push galaxies far enough away from each other that no light would reach them. It may seem like daunting news to process, but remember that these are just theories at this stage and that these events are still a very long way into the future.
