Astronaut’s footprints on the Moon will stay there for millions of years
History was made in 1969 when Neil Armstrong, Buzz Aldrin, and Michael Collins touched down on the Moon for the Apollo 11 mission. When Armstrong stepped down onto its surface, he uttered the memorable phrase, “one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind.”
It turns out that Armstrong’s “small step” is still up there today, in pristine condition. What is more, it will probably remain that way for millions of years since the Moon has no wind or water to wipe it away. It is incredible to know that humans have left their mark on something so distant.
