People in space do not age the same way they do on Earth
In his Theory of Relativity, Einstein first posited that the universe was made out of what he dubbed “space-time.” He was also the first to propose that space-time was curved and that it could be distorted by energy or mass. That is why time can appear to move faster or slower according to our position and speed.
People onboard the space stations actually experience time passing a little bit slower than how it goes on Earth. The reason for this is a phenomenon called “relative velocity time dilation.” This means that when you are going at a high enough speed, time passes more slowly.
