Saturn presents a hexagonal pattern in its north pole
As if Saturn did not have enough mysteries, it was observed during the Voyager mission in 1981 that there is a moving hexagon-shaped cloud at its north pole. Later, during the Cassini mission in 2006, it was seen changing color from blue to golden. What could cause this strange phenomenon?
There is no definite explanation as to why it is hexagon-shaped. One theory, developed by experts at Oxford University, is that this is due to the center winds rotating at a different speed than the periphery winds since similar shapes were observed when they tried to move liquids at different speeds.
