Kublai Khan established his rule while Polynesian explorers settled in New Zealand
New Zealand is believed to have been the last place on Earth to be populated by humans. Archeologists were able to determine through radiocarbon dating that the first Polynesian explorers arrived on the remote island around 1250 AD. Adventurers indeed.
That was the same period that Kublai Khan, one of the greatest conquerors of all time, was establishing his rule over the vast Mongol Empire that spanned the Middle East and parts of Russia as well as the whole of China and Central Asia.
