The British enjoyed the luxuries of the Victorian Era while Americans conquered the West
Socio-economic and political conditions vary from country to country. This means that drastically different historical events might be taking place at the same time in different regions. During the 1800s, England was enjoying all the power and riches of the Victorian Era.
Meanwhile, in the US, life was nowhere near as calm or cheery. Americans were too busy occupying the country’s West coast between 1865 and 1895. This was smack in the middle of Queen Victoria’s reign, which lasted from 1819 to 1901.
