Superstition and scientific developments can coexist
Throughout history, we humans have often seen superstition overlap with great scientific discoveries. While a part of the population is busy methodically investigating how the world works, another sector is being carried away by unfounded beliefs and misinformation. This dichotomy still exists today.
This happened quite clearly in the late 1600s. In a matter of years, Isaac Newton published his three laws of motion, which became the basis for modern physics. Meanwhile, the Salem Witch Trials began in North America. This is an example of two steps forward and one step back.
