The Wall Street Journal published its first edition the same year that the Eiffel Tower was inaugurated
Most people cannot imagine the city of Paris without the Eiffel Tower, but in fact, it is a relatively new addition since it was inaugurated in 1889. By contrast, the Wall Street Journal published its first edition in that same year and is still in print today.
The difference is that one can imagine the city of New York and Wall Street specifically without the Wall Street Journal, but the Eiffel Tower has become a characterizing landmark of the French capital. The Eiffel Tower welcomes almost 7 million visitors every year.
