A man recounted on live TV witnessing Abraham Lincoln’s assassination
In 1956, a man named Samuel J. Seymour appeared on the CBS TV game show called I’ve Got a Secret and told stunned audiences how he had witnessed the tragic assassination of the 16th President of the United States, Abraham Lincoln.
It turns out that when he was five years old, Seymour’s parents took him to the Ford Theater in Washington DC to see the same play as the President did on the very night he was shot by John Wilkes Booth.
