These Cute Baby Turtles Squirt and Crush
Volunteers discovered the baby turtle loggerhead, Squirt, and Crush in South Carolina in 2021. Before this, nest monitors saw other two-headed turtles in 2017 and 2019. They were allowed to stay in the nest and released into the ocean afterward.
Regular baby loggerhead turtles have 1 in 1,000 chances to survive and make it to adulthood. Sea patrol groups monitoring hatcheries in Hilton Island watched after this baby loggerhead. After some time, they were released to join their peers in the ocean. Before then, they had struggled to crawl, and chances were that they would not survive in the ocean for long.
