Frank and Louie Beat the Odds
Frank and Louie is a Janus cat born in 2000 with two faces and names. The two-faced cat caused a sensation in the media. It had two noses, three eyes, and whiskers on both noses. Many people predicted that the unusual cat would not live longer than a few days because cats born with two heads rarely made it past the kitten phase. Frank and Louie, however, surprised the world and lived a full cat life, even with their condition.
One of the reasons for his unusually long life was that he didn’t have congenital disabilities, unlike many Janus or two-headed cats. When the owners made special feeding arrangements for the two-faced cat, they discovered he had no defects. Frank and Louie didn’t have breathing problems, a cleft palate, or other problems. Frank and Louie lived for 15 years and are even featured in the 2006 Guinness Book of World Records.
