The Lizard Got Lucky
Polycephaly is common in reptiles, like lizards and snakes. Lizards particularly are unique creatures in terms of polycephaly, and this particular one was named Lucky. The lizard was born with two heads that worked independently of each other. However, having this lizard in the wild didn’t seem safe.
The lizard was handed over to the Australian Reptile Park because of its unique two-headed features and rare blue tongues. The Australian Reptile Park mentioned that they don’t see polycephalic animals survive in the wild, let alone live for a long time. Being two-headed, they can’t hunt easily, and this makes them more of prey than predators. Movement and survival will be difficult for Lucky in the wild and he might be unlucky. However, the Australian Reptile Park gives him the best care in the world, and we consider him lucky to enjoy such benefits.
