A Very Special Cardinal
A two-headed Cardinal is rare to find. They are one of the rarest mutations to occur, with little or no chance of survival. This special cardinal was found in Western Massachusetts.
What makes this bird weird and rare is that it had not only two heads but also two beaks. The owner found that cardinals flew over her house a lot and found this particular one on a tree. Based on the image, the bird must have been a couple of weeks old because it already had juvenile feathers. Scientists say flying would be impossible, and the chances are it won’t live long enough.
