Some varieties of apples have a red flesh
It isn’t well known, but there are hundreds of apple varieties that are being cultivated all around the world. Some are particularly unique because their flesh is not pale but blood red or pink. This particular type of apple variety is called “kissabel rouge.”
They have been described as being crisp and having a sweet and zesty flavor that is similar to green apples. The UK supermarket chain Marks and Spencer’s sold them during the months leading up to Halloween a few years ago.
