A solar eclipse was seen from a unique angle
Whenever there is an eclipse, people usually travel to the best viewing location to experience the rare phenomenon in all of its glory. However, no one has a better vantage point of an eclipse than the astronauts aboard a Space Station.
This photo was taken by Jean-Pierre Haignere, an astronaut who was on the former Mir Space Station. It shows a part of the Earth being darkened due to a solar eclipse, which occurs when the Moon passes between the Earth and the Sun.
