What a metallic taste in a swimming pool means
Have you ever had a metallic taste in your mouth while in a swimming pool? Well, consider yourself lucky to be able to read it with all your body parts intact and to be alive. Usually, such occurrences might hint at the presence of a nearby electric short in the pool. You should know electricity and water don’t produce good results, so it would be best to get out of that pool as soon as possible.
Now, that doesn’t mean you should taste the pool water before diving in any pool (because it’s gross and unhygienic). However, if you sense a hint of metal in the water while swimming, ensure you leave as soon as possible and inform the officials or the lifeguard to double-check if the pool is safe to swim. You wouldn’t want yourself electrocuted on a warm summer evening in a cool pool, would you? Exactly, prevention is better than cure!
