Crayons can be used as candles
It is not surprising that when a natural calamity hits, it causes significant damage to electric poles. It is very common for wires and power to be cut in such situations. However, when necessary natural light is absent during night or thunderstorms or maybe being in an enclosed cellar for shelter, it is essential to find a light source to see and judge our surroundings to plan accordingly.
While one might not be able to use electricity in such cases if they don’t have a backup source, one must rely on candles or lamps. Suppose you cannot find them in your vicinity but happen to have a box of crayons. In that case, you can use those as a light source as they can burn for up to 30 minutes each, giving you some crucial time to look around, interpret your surroundings, and organize yourself. After all, they are made of wax- the same thing used to make candles.
