Looking at a solar eclipse may damage your retina permanently
The glare of the sun is just too much for eyes to handle. We can rarely look straight at the sun because of its intense bright light, which may blind us if we look directly at it. However, during a solar eclipse, many people tend to forget that eclipse or not, the sun’s rays are equally harmful to naked eyes even if its brightness seems to be engulfed behind the moon.
It is advisable to wear UV protective eyewear to protect the eyes from irreversible damage from the harsh rays. Therefore, make sure you never look at a solar eclipse or the sun directly without covering your eyes with something capable of polarizing the UV rays.
