Globophobia – Fear of balloons popping
Globophobia is a form of phonophobia and a genuine fear of suddenly popping balloons. As kids and adults, they are expected to fear the sudden sound of loud noise. Balloons bursting unexpectedly can be frightening as the remains may get into delicate parts of your body like your nose or eyes.
People with globophobia avoid clowns and parties with balloons. They also feel breathless when a balloon is inflated near them or when kids are holding one as their instincts tell them to seek safety and avoid danger whenever they see an inflated balloon. Hypnotherapy is the only form of treatment for globophobia.
