Agrizoophobia – Fear of wild animals including raccoons
The Redditor’s fear of animals started when she was young. A raccoon stole her cousin’s sandwich and bit her arm right in front of her. With the shock, the raccoons had a field day in compost bins near her windows every night. In addition to all the traumatic experiences, a mother raccoon with six of her children circled the Redditor’s camping ground the following morning.
Agrizoophobia is the fear of wild animals. People with agrizoophobia may be comfortable with domesticated animals like dogs, cats, livestock, and horses. But the mere sight of wild animals like wolves or raccoons can cause anxiety. Agrizoophobia triggers are not dependent on the size of the wild animals, as even smaller animals can make you flee.
