Art: Red, Fierce, Hot
In the early 20th century, red lipstick was seen as an accessory that symbolized power during the Suffragettes movement and still does today. The Suffragettes movement was known to actively campaign for voting rights for the middle class and for women’s right to own properties. As they fought for these rights, the red lipstick became a statement and a part of their uniform.
Today, wearing red lipstick still enforces the same statement as you are viewed as being bold, daring, powerful, dauntless, and yet still feminine. The art is no different from the fiery red petals, assuming the position of the red lipstick still commands the same message. Here, the muse is fierce without disregarding her femininity.
