Eastern Screech Owl
The eastern screech-owl is native to eastern North America, ranging from southeastern Canada through east Mexico. They can be found in various habitats, including meadows, open woodlands, farmland, suburbs, and urban areas. Their white and brown fur perfectly blend into the oak trees in their habitat.

They typically nest in cavities like those found in trees or stumps (which they excavate themselves). This enables them to camouflage into the colors of such trees. The female owl typically lays 3 to 7 eggs that hatch after a 28-day incubation period. The chicks fledge at about 50 days old but remain dependent on their parents for up to 2 months afterward.
