Willow Ptarmigan
The willow ptarmigan is one of the most well-known birds, but many people find it hard to see them. It is a type of grouse with a snow-white appearance. Their appearance is necessary for them to blend into their surroundings. This allows them to remain undetected by predators that would otherwise eat them.

Camouflage is key for this bird species to survive since they have no fighting or defending attributes. The bird has perfected the art of disguise and can easily be lost amid the snow when standing still.
