Perinet Chameleon (Furcifer perineti)
The perinet chameleon is a species of chameleon endemic to Madagascar. It is also referred to as the Malagasy Giant Day Gecko due to its size and color, resembling a tree gecko. These reptiles have a life span of up to 20 years, reaching lengths of over 6 feet (1.8 meters).

They are known as “perinet” after their native region in southeastern Madagascar. They live along the Tsiribihina River, which runs through rainforests and grassy plains that boast diverse plant life. This chameleon can take the coloration of its environment as camouflage in the trees, hiding its identity and presence.
