Uroplatus Gecko
These unique-looking geckos are native to Madagascar. They are also known as flat-tailed geckos or leaf tails. They typically camouflage against trees to get food, insects, or protection from prey like rats and snakes. Their green and white skin mimics the texture and look of moss.

They blend in so well you would need to be actively searching to see them. Although they can be found throughout most parts of Madagascar’s rainforest regions, they prefer dryer regions near rivers or streams with plenty of trees and large leaves. Their camouflage allows them to hide while waiting for prey animals like insects and smaller reptiles and can run away once spotted by larger predators like birds or bats flying overhead.
