The common baron caterpillar is a species of butterfly found in Europe, Asia, and North Africa. This species has a wingspan of up to 3.5 cm and a body length of 1.5 cm. The upper side of its wings is dark brown with orange patches, while the underside has blue spots and streaks. While this is a butterfly, it spends most of its life as a caterpillar.
