Some nasty injuries didn’t back out this short track speed skater
Whizzing at top speed can be quite dangerous if we don’t know what we are doing. We mustn’t forget what occurred to J. R. Celski in the 2010 Olympic short-track speed skating trials. The three-time Olympian and three-time medalist were seriously injured, and we can feel the pain just by looking at his leg.
J.R. stated: “I fell in the corner and put the front six inches of my blade into my quad. I bounced off the pads with the blade still in my leg”. In fact, he came dangerously close to severing a major artery in his leg.
