Unsettling statue
Art usually hides significance within, which sometimes makes it more beautiful. This bust is, in my opinion, very well done and captivating, while also a bit sinister. It represents someone who drowned and was consumed by time underwater. Eventually, sea life took over the corpse.
Once again, trypophobia and autonomatophobia meet in one picture. This time, the tiny holes represent how the human body disintegrates and goes back to nature. It reminds me of that scene from the film Infinity War (in which someone – I won’t spoil who – says “I don’t feel so good” and turns into dust) ─ only with bubbles instead of dust.
