VIA 57 West, New York, New York
The VIA 57 West is a dynamic building shaped like a pyramid. The idea was conceived during the construction and architectural boom in Manhattan, which gave birth to a 32-story majestic structure of concrete, glass, and metal. The building serves as a residence for over 700 people and resembles a distorted arrangement of pyramids.
It combines two architectural design styles- the European low-rise apartment building structures and the native traditional Manhattan tower- to create a visually stunning, sloped residential structure. It was completed in 2012 and is 830,000 sq. feet, making it one of the famous works of Bjarke Ingels Group.
